Joke of the Month (second place) - Normal Iranian Bullshit - Military strike on Iran would trigger WWIII: Cmdr.

In case of the eruption of such a [war] condition, the situation would spin out of control and management; this war is likely to degenerate into the World War III."

Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Division

A senior Iranian military commander has warned that an Israeli strike on the Islamic Republic could trigger the World War III.

“We see the United States and the Zionist regime [of Israel] alongside one another and can by no means imagine that the Zionist regime would initiate a war [against Iran] without the US support….In case of the eruption of such a [war] condition, the situation would spin out of control and management; this war is likely to degenerate into the World War III. It means that some countries might enter the war in favor of or against Iran,” Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Aerospace Division of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said on Al-Alam television on Sunday.

“An independent war between Iran and the Zionist regime or the US could not be imagined,” the general said, adding that in case a war breaks out, Iran would be on collision course with both sides.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the US bases in the region as part of the American soil and will definitely target them if a war breaks out,” he added.

He went on to say that “One should not imagine that the countries in the region would declare neutrality if a war breaks outs.”

On Saturday, IRGC chief Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said a war on Iran “will eventually happen,” warning that the attack will lead to the Israeli regime’s obliteration.

Israel is stepping up threats of carrying out a unilateral strike against Iran’s nuclear energy facilities before the US presidential election on November 6. However, the US opposes any Israeli military action at the current juncture.

Israeli threats are based on the unsubstantiated claims that the peaceful nuclear activities of the Islamic Republic have been diverted to the acquisition of military nuclear capability.

Joke of the Month! - Bullshit from Iranian Terrorist - Iran would clobber Israel within 24 hours: Cmdr.

A regime [with a frontier] that in some spots is only 24 kilometers wide could have its back broken by one of our infantry battalions in 24 hours."

The deputy commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the Islamic Republic can annihilate the Zionist regime of Israel in 24 hours.

“A regime [with a frontier] that in some spots is only 24 kilometers wide could have its back broken by one of our infantry battalions in 24 hours,” Brigadier General Hossein Salami told an Iranian television station on Sunday.

“Our defense strategy assumption is that we would enter an all-out war with a US-led global coalition,” the general said, adding, “We have already identified the vital interests of the enemies and established an invasive power structure to destroy these vital interests.”

“We know that the enemy bases in the region, the security of the Zionist regime, energy supply security and protecting the life of enemy troops constitute the vital interest of the enemy,” General Salami noted.

“Our strategic doctrines are all defensive, but our tactics are invasive. It means that we do not initiate any war, but if anyone wages a war against us, we will counterattack incessantly and will not stop,” he warned adding, “The enemy could initiate a war, but its ending would be up to us”.

He also underscored the precision of IRGC-developed missiles, saying, “Our missiles are capable of targeting enemy bases in the region, at any range, with high destruction capabilities. We have mastered the knowledge of developing all modern missiles.”

The Iranian officials have promised a crushing response to any military strike against the country, warning that any such measure could result in a war that would spread beyond the Middle East.

The Village Idiot - Chávez says election rival and Romney want to subjugate Venezuela

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez compared his election rival to "far-right" US presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, saying both men wanted to subjugate the country under capitalism and crush his socialist "revolution."

South America's top oil exporter will hold its ballot on October 7, a month before the November 6 US election. Chávez is in full campaign mode, aiming for a new six-year term and saying he is fit and well after three cancer operations in the past year.

The two electoral races bumped against each other last week when President Barack Obama and his Republican rival, Romney, sparred over the risk posed by Chavez, and the Venezuelan leader sought to soften his radical image a touch by saying Obama was a "good guy."

Holding forth at a large rally in the western city of Maracaibo where he sang and pretended to play the guitar with a band, Chavez said opposition candidate Henrique Capriles resembled Romney, who hopes to replace Obama in the White House.

"What could better explain his program?" he asked. "Maybe it's the far-right candidate in North America, Romney. It's their plan. Their plan is to subjugate Venezuela again to the service of imperialism, of capitalism."

Chavez, 57, faces the toughest political challenge of his 14 years in power at October's election, and his fate has big consequences for many South and Central American nations that benefit from the former soldier's oil-fuelled largesse.

His illness has limited his on-the-street campaigning, but he has kept a double-digit lead in most polls, thanks largely to big welfare spending and the emotional connection that even fierce critics concede he shares with Venezuela's poor majority.

Since easily winning the opposition's primaries in February, Capriles, a 40-year-old state governor, has kept up a punishing schedule of "house-by-house" campaign visits across the country.

He says his offer to set up a Brazilian-style administration that would be market-friendly but remain committed to social spending is being well received nationwide, that the polls are unreliable and that his efforts will pay off on election day.
