Three Turkish soldiers wounded in clashes on Syrian border

Turkish soldiers were wounded along the Syrian border last night amid clashes between security forces and smugglers in Doğan.

The smugglers, who were carrying tea and cigarettes, fired at the soldiers on duty at a border post in eastern province of Hatay's Kırıkhan district as they were passing over the border.

Violence escalated when the soldiers responded with fire as well. The smugglers then escaped into Syrian territory.

The wounded soldiers are undergoing treatment but were reported to be in good condition.
