October 9th - On This Date - RN Submarine Service



1941                HMS Untamed laid down
1943                HMS Stratagem completed
1940                HMS Regent torpedoes and damages the Italian merchant Antonietta Costa about 20 nautical miles west of Durazzo, Albania.
1942                HMS Traveller attacks the Italian tanker Proserpina and the Italian torpedo boats Castore and Ciclone with three torpedoes west of Crete. None were hit.
1942                HMS Unbending torpedoes and sinks the Italian merchant Alga near Djerba, Tunisia.
1944                HMS Sturdy sinks a small Japanese vessel with gunfire in the Gulf of Boni, Celebes, Netherlands East Indies.
1944                HMS Virtue sinks the Greek sailing vessel Aghios Matthaios with gunfire west of Cape Stavros, Crete.
2000                HMCS Victoria (ex-HMS Unseen) departed UK for Canada
