October 13th - On This Date - RN Submarine Service



1942                HMS Talent laid down
1942                HMS Thrasher sinks a sailing vessel with gunfire in the Aegean Sea about 10 nautical miles south-west of Cape Pinnes, Athos peninsula, Greece.
1942                HMS Unruffled torpedoes and sinks the Italian merchant Loreto (130 POW's aboard were lost) 4 nautical miles off Cape Gallo, Sicily, Italy.
1944                HMS Sturdy sinks the Japanese Kosei Maru and Hansei Maru off Towari, Celebes, Netherlands East Indies.
1956                HMS Anchorite went aground in Rothesay Bay and was stuck for 2 days before being pulled free.
