Former government vice-president and outspoken Pasok member Thodoros Pangalos launched a scathing attack on main parliamentary opposition Syriza while talking on Alpha TV's current affairs programme "Autopsy", going as far as to compare them with neo-nazis Golden Dawn.
"Why is it that when Golden Dawn is involved in some form of violence", he said, "we rush to condemn them, but Syriza and their associates do the same, and all they receive is praise and the satisfaction which comes from warming the hearts of the upper class ladies of the Kolonaki area? I don't understand this"
He then went on to specifically target Rena Dourou, MP for Syriza, who was on the receiving end of the now infamous Ilias Kasidiaris attack prior to the elections.
"Ms Dourou comes out and says (concerning a yoghurt pelting incident that Pangalos was at the heart of) 'what can a few yoghurts possibly do, we put tzatziki on meat and it makes them tastier'. This is the same ms Dourou who got a glass of water to the face, who was a victim when that took place, but who somehow was the joker in the incident I was involved in. Because me being pelted with yoghurt is a joke".
He also reserved some choice words for Syriza chief Alexis Tsipras.
"He is an utterly cluelless individual, on a political and educational level, he is devoid of even the basic principles of education, he makes massive mistakes in his use of the greek language, he speaks the language like a barbarian".
He ended his attack by saying that he would rather side with the devil than allow Syriza to form a government.
We await the response of Syriza, which will surely only add more fuel to the fire between them and the Pasok veteran.
