Something Different - IF for some strange reason you like Soccer - 'I’m a complete idiot – I broke the Euro 2012 ball'

The banner says: “I’m a complete idiot – I broke the Euro 2012 ball”

Two men from the Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine have been publicly shamed for damaging a giant Euro 2012 football, erected in front of one of the city malls.

They duo were forced to stand by the broken symbol of the European football championships for nearly 24 hours, holding banners, which said: “I’m a complete idiot – I broke the Euro 2012 ball” in their hands.

According to Segodnya newspaper, the men were drunk when they started kicking the oversize ball and cracked it in several places.

The perpetrators were caught by the shopping mall’s security who demanded the pair pay $16.000 to cover the damage.

And when it turned out that they didn’t have much money on them, a more creative form of punishment was invented.

The ITAR-TASS news agency says the local police claim “the men, chose such punishment themselves.”

Ukraine co-hosts Euro 2012 together with Poland, but Dnepropetrovsk isn’t among the cities where the tournament’s matches will take place.
