David's Sling was co-developed by the Israeli firm Rafael
Advanced Defense Systems and the U.S. firm Raytheon. It is designed to protect
Israel from midrange missiles. It has a range of more than 160 kilometers
(around 100 miles).
The system is expected to be operational within two
years.
David's Sling will become part of Israel's multilayered missile
