1913 | HMS C14 | Sank off Plymouth Sound after collision with Hopper On the evening of the 10th of December HMS C14, en route to Plymouth, when she collided with Government Hopper No 27 in Plymouth Sound. The submarine immediately began to take in large amounts of water and began sinking by the stern. The collision took place within sight of land from where help soon arrived and although the submarine sank within ten minutes, there were no casualties. HMS C14 was later salvaged and returned to active service. |
