The Russian navy has completed
its exercises in the Northern Pacific
with missile launches, Russia's
Pacific Fleet said Thursday.
The nuclear submarines Tver and
St. George the Conqueror launched cruise
missiles and inter-continental ballistic missiles
to the targets planted in the Barents
and Okhotsk seas, navy spokesman
Roman Martov told reporters.
Two small missile ships, Inei
and Razliv, also launched missiles to
remote targets, he said.
In October, St. George the
Conqueror along with other warships participated
in another drill in the Far
East. The navy then carried out
over 15 artillery and missile firings against
sea-based targets.
According to the commander of
the Pacific Fleet submarine forces, Nikolai
Yevmenov, Russia
would hold drills involving underwater missile
launches from two submarines in 2013.
