October 2nd - On This Date - USN Submarine Service



    1939 - USS Searaven (SS 196) is commissioned
    1940 - USS Tuna (SS 203) is launched
    1944 - Keel is laid for the USS Irex (SS 482)
    1945 - USS Dolphin V-7 ( SS 169) is decommissioned
    1961 - Keel is laid for the USS Nathan Hale (SSBN 623)
