June 20th - On This Date - RN Submarine Service

1940 Tigris Submarine HMS Tigris completed
1943 Volatile Submarine HMS Volatile launched
1944 Urtica Submarine HMS Urtica completed
1940 HMS Parthian Italian submarine Diamante is sunk by HMS Parthian off Tobruk.
1940 HMS Salmon HMS Salmon fires two torpedoes against a German convoy about 15 nautical miles south-west of Egersund, Norway. Both torpedoes missed their intended targets.
1940 Clyde About 40 nautical miles north-west of the island of Halten, Norway. HMS Clyde hit the German battleship Gneisenau in the bow with one torpedo.
1943 HMS United HMS United torpedoes and sinks the Italian merchant Olbia about 20 nautical miles south of Cape Spartivento, Italy.
1944 HMS Storm HMS Storm attacks the German submarine U-1062 with torpedoes in the Malacca Strait. The torpedoes however miss their target. The u-boat had left Penang the previous day.
1944 HMS Ultor HMS Ultor torpedoes and sinks the German tug Cebre south of Cannes, southern France.
