Indian Navy to induct advanced survey vessels by 2017

Naval officials from India informed the media representatives that the Indian Navy (IN) is in the process of acquiring locally developed survey ships from indigenous shipyards within the country.

A total of four technologically advanced survey vessels will be purchased, and the deliveries are expected to start by the year 2017.

The officials claimed that no foreign participation will be allowed, and the vessels will be 100% indigenously developed and manufactured.
