City Mayor Mauricio Macri warned that “arrogant governments do no get us anywhere” and said he considers next week’s march and general strike as a wake up call to the President.
“We need Governments that listen and work for people and close to people. Confrontation must stop, and we must recover humbleness and put and end to arrogance,” Macri told reporters.
The City Mayor assured that the strike that the CGT will hold next Wednesday is “a wake up call for a government that in less than six months after taking office has created a strong climate of intolerance.”
“The President must listen to this claim. The Government should not fight against anybody who thinks differently. That arrogance makes fight with historic allies such as the CGT or Daniel Scioli.”
Macri also recalled that “during the electoral campaign, the President urged to believe that her second term in office would be more open-minded and tolerant. But suddenly she took the same path she had before with that ‘let’s go for all’ attitude and that caused disappointment and worry.”
“The President must admit that she made a mistake. I hope that what happens on Wednesday allows her to reflect and correct the path and stop listening to the advisor telling her everything is fine,” he concluded.
