May 27th - On This Date - RN Submarine Service

1907 C11 Submarine HMS C11 launched
1918 L9 Submarine HMS L9 completed
1919 H32 Submarine HMS H32 completed
1983 Trafalgar Submarine HMS Trafalgar completed
1941 Bismarck The Home Fleet caught the German battleship Bismarck, damaged the previous day by Ark Royal's Swordfish torpedo-bombers,and avenged the loss of HMS Hood.

The cruiser Norfolk relocated Bismarck, and the battleships Rodney and King George V engaged Bismarck for over two hours, leaving her wrecked from stem to stern without suffering a single hit in return. HMS Dorsetshire's torpedoes delivered the coup de grace.
1944 HMS Tactician HMS Tactician sinks two Siamese sailing vessels with gunfire of the west coast of Siam.
2008 HMS Superb HMS Superb collided with an underwater pinnacle 80 miles south of Suez in the Red Sea and damaged its sonar equipment, forcing it to surface. None of the crew was hurt.
