Minner will be stationed on the Virginia-class submarine once construction completes. He commented on the small sleeping quarters, great food, and experience of being underwater with more than 140 men for 6 months at a time.

Minner says this gives North Dakotans a chance to feel connected to a submarine named after their state.

Lt. Commander Jeremiah Minner – PCU North Dakota: “When she hits the fleet in 2014 she will be the most capable submarine in the world, she will be different than all the other Virginia class submarines, with a few modifications we made.”

The submarine will go to sea in 2014.
