Department of State, Top Secret Current Report from the Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR): Two days after the sinking of Argentine cruiser General Belgrano, another almost completely redacted U.S. intelligence report highlights that the ship was outside the U.K. Designated Maritime Exclusion Zone [highlighted in red]. With the General Belgrano sank any serious consideration for a negotiated settlement of the conflict.
