Argentina - Macri blasts opposition for 'supporting Kirchnerite initiatives'

Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri reaffirmed today that “to be part of the opposition means to put across a different and more personal view,” and to that effect blasted some blocs for “saying that they represent the opposition, but they end up supporting all of the initiatives put forward by the Kirchnernites.”

“We have a proposal and it is based on respect, dialogue, unity and a futuristic view. We do not believe in division and aggression,” Macri said today, in statements aimed at the UCR (Radical party) and FAP, who voted in favour of the expropriation of YPF when the law was passed in Congress.

While on a visit to Mendoza, Macri explained that the centre-right PRO party “is a force that grows a little more each day, because there are more and more people who see that there is an alternative against Kirchnerite values, such as intolerance and division.”
