US - Two classes graduate from Submarine School

Groton - Two classes recently graduated from the Naval Submarine School.

Forty-eight sailors of "Class 12010" graduated from the Submarine Electronics Computer Field Apprentice course Feb. 23.

Seaman Andrew O'Brien, Seaman Jeremy Reinhold and Seaman Christopher J. Hentz were class honormen. Hentz, Electronics Technician Second Class Kendrick O. Sanderson, Seaman Freddie Shukis and Seaman Brandon McGuire were recognized as graduates with distinction. Seaman Apprentice Sean L. Brousseau and Seaman Apprentice Richard G. Roberts were meritoriously advanced because of their academic performance.

Thirty-eight sailors, "Class 12120," USS Ulysses S. Grant (SSBN-631), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School Feb. 24.

Fireman Joshua Byrd was the class honorman. Seaman Apprentice Robert Glasker received the Submarine League's William Purdum Award for most improved student. Electricians Mate Second Class Robert Fasone received the Navy League Award. Aviation Structural Mechanic First Class Stephen Pasco, the class leader, received the Heritage Award and Seaman Recruit Walther Mathesius was meritoriously advanced.

Pasco, Fasone, Mathesius, Byrd, Seaman Apprentice Daniel Dunn, Seaman Apprentice Kenneth Lewis, Machinist Mate Third Class Douglas Tipton, Seaman Thomas Sawicki, Seaman Recruit Cordaro Hilton Washington and Seaman Apprentice Eric Lindallculver were graduates with distinction.
