The Iranian foreign minister praises Iran’s Islamic Revolution of 1979 for inspiring the sweeping wave of Islamic Awakening across the Middle East and North Africa. (Iran could'nt inspire a prayer meeting in a Mosque with the stoning to death of a female first)
“The Islamic revolution and the religious democracy in Iran have turned into an example for the right- and justice-seeking movements and uprisings of Muslim nations,” Ali-Akbar Salehi said on Wednesday.
The Iranian revolution has also led to an increasing tendency towards ‘righteousness, justice, and spirituality’ among the people of other countries, he added.
Salehi, who was speaking ahead of the 34th anniversary of the Iranian revolution on February 11, described the ceremonies marking the event as a sign of the ‘integrity and national glory of the Islamic Republic against the global arrogance and Israel.’
In February 1979, the Iranian people's decades-long struggle against the regime of former monarch, Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi, paid off as the Iranians toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime to end the 2,500-year-long reign of monarchical rule in the country.
The top Iranian diplomat went on to draw attention to the enemies’ continuing hostilities against the country and their abortive attempt to thwart its progress through whatever means they can afford.
“The enemies, relying only on their material and military powers, have failed to understand and identify the soft power and...logic, which has resulted in the Islamic Republic’s success in making progress and overcoming challenges in the international arena,” he said.
