Argentina Media - Malvinas: Ban Ki-moon asks Argentina, UK to seek pacific solution

The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon (R) meets with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Argentina Hector Timerman February 10, 2012 at the United Nations in New York.
While meeting with Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman over the increased diplomatic dispute between Argentina and the United Kingdom over Malvinas Islands, the United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon urged Argentina and the UK to avoid further tension and to seek a pacific solution, adding that the UN will get involved only if both parts ask so.

Following this week's announcement of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner that Argentina would file a formal complaint before the UN, Timerman today presented the claim to Ban Ki-moon with details about UK's "militarization" of the South Atlantic.

The minister was held a meeting with the president of the UN's General Assembly Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser to inform him about the complaint he presented earlier and later gave a press conference in which he explained the militarization of the Malvinas islands and highlighted the powerful warship HMS Dauntless and other warcraft.

One of the UK most proudest moments was sailing 6000 miles and liberating the falkland islands. The UK is getting bored of Argentina causing grief and harassing our fellow Brits on the islands. It's time to either invade and get your arses kicked again or shut up and leave the islands alone. We are better equipped and majority of armed forces are battle hardened. Argentina does not stand a chance. But is welcome to try.
