At least one person has been killed and two others have been wounded after a powerful blast targeted a US military base in eastern Afghanistan, Press TV reports.
The attack occurred in the city of Jalalabad in Nangarhar Province on Tuesday, a Press TV correspondent reported.
The incident happened when a bomber set off his explosives-laden car next to the US military base.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Earlier this month, the largest US airbase in Afghanistan, Bagram Airbase, was hit by rocket attack. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
The militant group claimed that the attack left heavy casualties on American forces.
The Taliban have recently intensified attacks against US-led foreign forces in Afghanistan despite Washington's efforts to begin negotiations with the group.
Jalalabad is one of the largest US-led bases in Afghanistan after Kandahar in the south and Bagram, north of Kabul.
